Nancy Silverman’s journey to the Georgetown Saloon started out at Michigan State University. She began as a Business Major focusing on Hotel and Restaurant Management. Soon thereafter she created her own consulting firm specializing in computer systems for the retail industry. Her acute business prowess and life long love of cooking lead her searching for the perfect combination of business and pleasure. In 2004 she happened upon the saloon and fell in love with the place: the building, the music, and the people.

She brings a natural warmth and casual style with her wherever she goes, and these qualities seemed to fit perfectly with the tradition of the Georgetown Saloon. While keeping most things the same at the local watering hole, she ventured to bring new and exciting items to the menu. A couple of the newer appetizer favorites are the Zucchini Carpaccio and Salsa Baked Goat Cheese. Another local favorite is the 16oz. Cowboy Steak which has been kicked up a notch to compete with the classic BBQ dishes.

In 2006, the Georgetown Saloon was given the “Best Live Music Spot” award, highlighted in the “Best of the Gold Coast” feature publications. This is an honor that Nancy and the crew at the saloon value and continue to strive for a repeat title.

Her commitment to the community and her enthusiasm for the Georgetown Saloon is a big part of her promise to provide Great food, Great Music, Great Times in the coming years.
